Was at The Lagoon watching Portugal & Netherlands (Holland) in action when a tissue tout came round to my table and asked "Xiao jie mai tissue? (Miss, buy tissue)".
"Mei you qian. (No money)"
"Xiao jie bang bang mang mai tissue. (Miss help me, buy tissue)"
"Wo mei you dai qian. (I never bring money)"
With that, tissue auntie & her elderly hunched aide/father/uncle walked away.
Now, i had no problem with that, but if she had stayed on to bug me about buying tissue paper when i have already told her i've NOT a cent on me, and Cristiano Ronaldo was onto the ball for a goal (or if Mexico was involved and my Sanchez was defending a crucial shot), i'd have been quite cheesed off. Oh yes, one more thing, why did she make use of that poor ol'man?! She could carry her bag of goods herself! Anyway, any footie fan watching his favourite team or anybody watching the final Big match (Germany's taking the Cup, i believe) wouldn't be too happy about missing The Goal because someone's shoving something in their way that they have no big need for, really, at that point of time, all they need to see is their fav. team score.
Speaking of Cris, that handsome roguish lad...how he fought hard to contain his tears! He was so sad when he was called off the field by his coach because of an earlier sustained injury that still hurt minutes later. His look, alamak, makes you want to sayang Crissy boy...which is exactly what the 'uncles' at the bench did. Ha ha! Well, i left after half-time, and continued my cycle. Thanks for the telecast at the hawker centre, cos' I missed the 3am (local time) live feed as ruddy RTM & Starhub's preview channel doesn't screen the game.
Football, futbol, The World Cup, FIFA yadah yadah seems to be on everyone's lips/ minds/ TV & computer screen these days sooo...onto something else.
Adolf Hitler. Hideki Tojo. Pol Pot. The Evils of before.
Are they getting punished for their misdeeds in their afterlife now? Do they even have An Afterlife? ConDAMNed to eternal suffering, i am sure all the victims would hope! Learnt of Pol Pot after seeing a powerpoint slide that was on my cousin's thumb drive and it just brings me back to all the bad times in history: World War I & II. Recalled how i was so anti-Nippon in Secondary school that i came home pointing out to all the electronics in this house that were made in the Land of the Rising Sun and grumbled about using Japanese goods! Ha. The people have move on. We must forgive, but to forget, ahh...the anguish the wicked Jap leader & his soldiers caused many around the world, who is able? I am glad. So fortunate i am to be living in peace (don't talk about the incessant arguments/ big fights happening in this household everyday). To be thankful for what we have, instead of grumbling about what we don't have, should be what everyone does. I only hope that you, after reading this, make a short prayer to Our Creator thanking him for all the good and bad (without the bad, how do you know what's good?) things that have befallen upon you or give gratitude to whoever who deserves it.
To all Mummies & Daddies: Thank You for bringing us out into this world. :)
To love some1 who doesn't appreciate your love is agony.
