I must say, it's good fun living in a multi-cultural society sometimes.
I wonder if my cowcrap (it's kinder on the ears than bull shit, i reckon) about me losing my ancestor along the way may be true. Haaa.
Well, that came about in late '06 when my colleague was discussing my heritage with a regular, so i played along with her joke about me having Indian blood.
Hookay, iss derr wayy i tallk rrright. *head roll*
First day of Hari Raya:
After 4 and a half hours of playing and teaching in Farrer Park, with thambi's dad finally arriving to pick him up at the 5th hour, it was finally time for fun!
Exploring on foot is always the best way to take in the sights and the sounds...especially in Little India. So walk i did, all the way to Singapore Art Museum (SAM), where i met my companion, after which, to the National Museum of Singapore (MoS). We left soon after closing hour for the MRT station with our souvenirs- a DIY Bird cage with self-coloured birds to do more visiting- of homes now! She was headed to a home in Simei, and I, to Pasir Ris.
It was great fun, i did not expect to be having a good conversation with people i met that night, but i did. I even ended up entertaining an eight year old who kept begging for another round of 'cherry cherry long cham pass' when all i wanted was to chat with her cantik kakak.
I fasted the whole day for the late dinner of lontong, rendang, some kambing dish, with all the gravy that accompanied the meat added to the briyani-style nasi, and some orange syrup water (that was only sweet in the first round) and rose syrup (also very diluted), i was indeed well fed. You can't really go hungry in a Malay/ Muslim household.
I got a chance to burn off those calories soon after it barely settled in my stomach.
The host's Indian students were all present and they were dancing, so i joined them after being invited. I am a very sporting person see.
Close to midnight, ah, my ex-colleagues came and so we caught up a little on each other's life.
Almost 30 hours after leaving my residence at 8+ in the morning, i returned home, happy and satisfied with how the day went.
Second Hari Raya visit
Returned home past midnight again, transport issues made me a grump earlier. Ha. It was well my fault for taking SBS/ SMRT for granted and not allowing myself time to catch the last bus and hence 'give the cabbies business once in awhile' like how papa puts it.
But it was good, catching up with my fartna and munching on yummy, non-homemade goodies.
Oh, the price of bubble tea in Sun Plaza is unreasonable considering the demand for it now is reasonably low. Fartna bought milk tea for SGD2 and i cannot believe i paid 80 good cents more for the Kiwi flavour. The taste is not even worth it. *scowl* Money issues lures the grumbling lady.
Sembawang, jazzed up

Guess which i've got my eye on...
