"Wha?..." Surprised, I quickly obeyed the order. Not so when mom told me to the previous time i wore a cap-hat. Why? I needed a reason and she couldn't provide. Stunned by the first 'touch' of a priest this way, i failed to get my answer again.
So googling it, the way most e-savvy folks do these days to get information....
Wiki tells me 'Men's hats are removed in Church, and not removing them is usually frowned upon. Women, however, are required to wear a hat to cover the head in some churches based on 1 Corinthians 11:5'.
(4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.
5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, foras much as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.)
Doesn't explain why I cannot wear my hat to the Catholic Church then!
